A new industry insight released by Austrade highlights why the return of Working Holiday Makers (WHM) is good news for Australia’s visitor economy.
The insight is based on previous research findings provided by Tourism Research Australia, which indicates five important themes about WHMs:
- They stay longer
- They spend more
- They travel more widely
- They do more activities
- Most of them work
Recent research commissioned by Austrade also shows the importance of WHMs to employers. Nine in 10 employers say WHMs are an essential workforce. 75% indicate WHMs provide an economic boost to local regions.
